Port Angeles, WA-- Clallam County commissioners talked about appraisals of some flood-prone property near the mouth of the Dungeness river at their worksession yesterday. The county wants to use money from the state's Salmon Recovery fund to buy the property and move out the structures. County officials say they'll only approach willing sellers under the program. Commissioner Steve Tharinger says they hope to get the parcels appraised in a block rather than having to hire appraisers for each, individual property. The county is considering appraisals on 16 pieces of property in that area.
