Sequim, WA - After a brief hiatus in enforcement of the city’s sign ordinances, the Sequim City Council will again be requiring business owners to remove signs that do not conform.

After a brief hiatus in enforcement of the city’s sign ordinances, the Sequim City Council will again be requiring business owners to remove signs that do not conform. This includes many portable sandwich board signs visible along Washington Street.

" I think this community is much more attractive now that we’ve started enforcing this part of the code," said council member Paul McHugh. " We need to be careful not to send a mixed message."

The council plans to revisit the sign code at the end of the calendar year. In the interim, citizens and business owners are encouraged to contact the chamber of commerce and the department of planning and public works to express any concerns regarding signage.
