Clallam County Comprehensive Plan Hearings to begin on Jan 6th

Clallam County, WA - The public participation plan that will be considered
by the Board of Commissioners is now available, and can be seen by
clicking the documents indicated below.
Steve Gray gave a presentation to the Planning Commission about the
comp plan on Dec. 17th, 2003, and plans to repeat the presentation
at open house meetings throughout the County in an effort to heighten
public participation.
According to Mike McAleer who attended the meeting, the Planning Commission's
approach will be to change the Comprehensive Plan as little as possible
(to bring it into compliance with GMA changes since adoption in '95).
"We should be asking for more than that, even though each and
every change creates a risk that there will be a challenge that results
in appearance before the Growth Hearings Board," McAleer stated.
The public hearing is scheduled for Jan. 6, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the
county commissioner's meeting.
