Bill introduced to ban lawn watering from exempt wells

Olympia, WA - Representative Dave Upthegrove (D-Des Moines) has introduced a bill (HB 1179) to require a permit for using water from your well to water your lawn.

According to the Digest of the Bill, a permit would be required to use "public groundwaters" to water a lawn.

The bill has ben referred to the House Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee on Jan. 14, 2009.
