Port Angeles, WA - More than 500 North Olympic Peninsula teachers will call on lawmakers to support funding for education during the Day of Action rally Tuesday on the Capitol Campus in Olympia.

The Chimacum, Port Townsend, Sequim and Port Angeles school boards have all changed school schedules to allow teachers to participate, forcing students to make up classes on a previously scheduled snow day.

The Cape Flattery and Quillayute Valley school districts are sending contingents to speak with legislators, but will have school as usual.

The Quilcene, Crescent, Brinnon and Queets-Clearwater school districts will not participate, but plan to meet with area lawmakers at later dates.
