TACOMA, Wash. - A group hoping to change the form of Tacoma government turned in 4,000 more signatures for a total of more than 11,000.

The co-sponsor of the initiative, Sherry Bockwinkel, says she's confident there are more than enough names to force the city council to consider the change.

The petition would change Tacoma from a city manager to a strong mayor style of government. It also would reduce the number of city council seats from nine to seven.

The petition is more fallout from the murder-suicide two months ago by police chief David Brame.
