(Sequim) -- After more than a year of sitting idle, the John Wayne Marina Restaurant will be operating under new ownership in late July or early August. Port of Port Angeles Commissioners approved the new lease agreement Monday morning, at a monthly rate of $1545-dollars. That figure is based, in part, on the cost of improvements to the kitchen and seating area, and another 400 square feet of dining area. The chef at the new restaurant will be a familiar name to gourmet diners in the area, Steve Little, formerly with Xanadu Grill and the Old Mill Cafe. Little plans a lunch and dinner menu, as well as catering services for the Marina meeting room, and also told port commissioners there will be breakfast for those who want it.

e Bush administration has been working to change the Northwest Forest Plan to allow more timber production. But it has been largely stymied by court rulings, including several that tossed out plans to log in critical habitat for the owl.
