(Chicago) - Former President George W. Bush says Paul Harvey's commentary "entertained, enlightened, and informed."

The legendary radio pioneer heard on Newsradio 1450 KONP for more than 20 years died yesterday in Arizona with family members by his side. Harvey was 90.

Bush remembered Harvey as a "friendly and familiar voice in the lives of millions of Americans." Bush says he and his wife, Laura's thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Harvey, the news commentator and talk-radio pioneer whose staccato style made him one of the nation's most familiar voices, was active past his 90th birthday and worked for ABC for more than 50 years.

His death comes less than a year after that of his wife and longtime producer, Lynne. His son, Paul Harvey Junior says of his parents, "an industry has lost its godparents and today millions have lost a friend."
