PORT TOWNSEND -- The Port Townsend Marine Science Center will be hosting Betsy Carlson, Olympic National Park outreach and education specialist, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, for a presentation on the Dam Removal and Restoration of the Elwha Watershed in the Natural History Exhibit.

``In 2008, two dams are scheduled for removal on the Elwha River watershed,'' said Carlson.

``It will be the biggest dam removal project of its kind in the world.''

The two hydroelectric dams that currently block 70 miles of salmon habitat near Port Angeles were built in the early 1900s.
