Clallam park plan calls for six million in land buys

(Port Angeles) -- Clallam County Commissioners today take public comment on a plan that includes spending more than six million dollars on more park land.

The hearing is on the county's ten-year park master plan. Included six and quarter million dollars in possible land buys ranging from buying tidelands at a number of parks to purchasing part of Siebert Creek. Also included is a plan for the county to buy the Lyre River Campground.

The plan also has more than two million dollars in improvements at parks too. Those range from building a a bicycle campground at the Dungeness Recreation area to adding new facilities at Robin Hill Farm. The hearing begins at 10:30 this morning at the courthouse.
