SEQUIM -- Target Corp., the national department store chain, apparently is the large store to be built in a regional shopping center on the south side of Washington Street between Ninth Avenue and Priest Road.

A sign erected at the site Thursday lists Target and the nationwide home improvement center, The Home Depot, as two occupants of the largest buildings at the 42-acre shopping center.

Albertsons Food & Drug, which was the first named tenant for the property, was not listed on the sign, but an artist's rendering of buildings distributed by the developer showed the Albertsons name on one of the stores.

AVB Development Partners of Scottsdale, Ariz., is developing the 395,000-square-foot shopping center called Sequim Village Marketplace.

Across Washington Street in a separate development, Wal-Mart Corp. is planning to build a ``superstore'' that includes a supermarket.
