COUNTY COMMISSIONERS'

RESOLUTION NO. 104, 1995

WHEREAS, the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe and Clallam County have supported the cooperative planning and management of the natural resources of the region, and have directed considerable effort to addressing the Dungeness Watershed through the completion of plans including the Dungeness Watershed Management Pland and the Dungeness-Quilcene Water Resources Management Plan; and

WHEREAS, such plans call for the formation of a council for the dungeness Watershed comprised of a spectrum of governmental representatives, agency personnel and citizens having an interest in or influence on the management of the watershed; and

WHEREAS, Clallam County formed the Dungeness River Management Team in 1988 via Resolution No. 46, 1988, which solicited representatives from various groups to form goals and a plan for management of the Dungeness River.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal Council and the Board of Clallam County Commissioners do hereby revise and reactivate the Dungeness River Management Team and request representation on the Team as follows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the purpose of the dungeness River Management Team shall be to exchange information on technical studies, issues, and projects occurring in the Dungeness Watershed; pursue implementation of the Dungeness River Comprehensive Flood Control Management Plan (1989), Dungeness River Area Watershed Management Plan (1993), and the Dungeness-Quilcene Water Resources Management Plan (1994); coordinate the use of staff, funding and other resources among agencies and representatives, and promote public education on watershed processes and activities.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the groups and individuals serving on the Dungeness River Management Team may be modified by joint agreement of the Chairman of the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe and the Clallam County Commissioner from District 1.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

THIS UNDERSTANDING is entered into by and between Clallam County, hereinafter referred to as "the County" and Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe, hereinafter referred to as "the Tribe," for the purpose of modifying the Dungeness River Management Team.

WHEREAS, the Dungeness River Management Team was revised and reactivated in May, 1995 by Clallam County Resolution No. 104, 1995 and Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal Resolution No. 44-95; and

WHEREAS, the Resolution indicates that "groups and individuals serving on the Dungeness River Management Team may be modified by joint agreement of the Chairman of the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe and the Clallam County Commissioner from District 1;" and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to modify the Dungeness River Management Team in order to designate alternate representatives and to add the City of Sequim;

IT IS MUTUALLY AGREED, that the Dungeness River Management Team shall be modified to include the following representatives and alternates:
